Liam gets sick on Thanksgiving.

We were all set to go to Idaho Falls on Thursday, but Liam got sick at 3am and we didn't go. It's OK though, it happens. I will try and get the kids down there in December. Anyway, we weren't planning on being home that day and had no food, the turkey wasn't thawed yet,  aaaaand almost every store was closed. Jerad ended up getting him and the kids a frozen pizza at Albertson's a half hour before the closed and I had a bowl of cereal. We had out actual dinner the next day. Jerad made the potatoes, turkey, green beans, and cranberries. I had the sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, brownies, stuffing, and biscuits. It turned out fine, even though we had a rough start.

Savory turkey with salt rub
au gratin potatoes
green beans with lemon zest and French onion soup
cranberry sauce with orange and pineapple
cornbread stuffing
buttery sage biscuits
orange pumpkin pie
handmade orange whipped cream
mashed sweet potatoes
pumpkin brownies
sparkling mango cider
red wine

Liam takes a sick day

she was less sick

Jasper still worried

Visiting Idaho Falls

Mary and Roxy

Fran and her broken collarbone, which she called "inconvenient"

Jerad gets home from an overnight trip to Idaho Falls

Jerad delivered a car to Idaho Falls and stopped in to see his family overnight. He met Laura's new puppy, a Jack Russell named Roxy and saw his grandma who recently fell and broke her collarbone. When he got home the kids were pretty excited.

Thank you great Grandma for the apron

Dear Great Grandma, thank you for the apron that you gave to my mom before I was born so I could use it now. I know it was really for me, she was just keeping it safe. Love, Cassia

Trip to MT

fishing at Cooney

Steve met us with the boat and Tommy and Drake met us later. Liam looked for sea monsters and zombies in the water with a flashlight. He told us you know when there's a sea monster because you will see blood and dead fish in the water. He also was quite proud of the fish count, which ended up being Liam 4, Dad 1, and Steve 1. When Tommy pulled a fish shaped lure out of the water Liam took the opportunity to talk smack.

"Look how small his fish is! I caught big fish but he caught just a small one"

Also I held a leech. It bit me 2x. Then it got used for bait.

Fran got scammed and while Jerad sits in a Canadian jail

I get a call yesterday "Molly this is Chuck, where's Jerad?"
 "He's at work, why?"
"Well this morning...Fran.." his voice cut out and I was thinking, oh no, Fran died and he continues "Fran got a phone call and Jerad is in jail. We think he got in trouble with those fountain pens"
"What? No, he's at work"
"We got a call and they said Jerad was in jail and we have to post 2900$ in bail and a 150$ processing fee"
"Oh, no you guys! That's a scam! Don't pay any money to anyone!"
"Well Fran thinks its real and says we're going to the police right now. OK bye"

Chuck called back about an hour and a half later, laughing. The number that "Jerad" had called from Canadian and the account they were supposed to send the "bail money" to was in Lima Peru. Whoever called claimed to be Jerad and gave Fran directions to send a money gram from Fred Meyer. Fran wrote down the info (officer badge number W420, as of they could not be more obvious) and then ran out to tell Chuck, who was working outside

. She ran outside and yells "I need 2900$ and I can't tell anyone why!" And Chuck says "And I told her I'm not giving you 2900$ and you are going to tell me why". I guess the police said there was nothing they could do and Fran was completely terrified that Jerad was in jail in Canada. As Chuck was telling me this he suddenly says "well Fran says to get off the phone. Bye" (click)

As I relayed this all to Jerad after work he says "well at least I know who to call if I ever actually do need to be bailed out"

last hurrah

Liam picked me flowers on our last night in MT. We had dinner at the Quick Stop and ice cream. Dad got vanilla, Liam got strawberry, I got creme de menthe, and Cassia chewed on my cup of water.
