Liam gets sick on Thanksgiving.

We were all set to go to Idaho Falls on Thursday, but Liam got sick at 3am and we didn't go. It's OK though, it happens. I will try and get the kids down there in December. Anyway, we weren't planning on being home that day and had no food, the turkey wasn't thawed yet,  aaaaand almost every store was closed. Jerad ended up getting him and the kids a frozen pizza at Albertson's a half hour before the closed and I had a bowl of cereal. We had out actual dinner the next day. Jerad made the potatoes, turkey, green beans, and cranberries. I had the sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, brownies, stuffing, and biscuits. It turned out fine, even though we had a rough start.

Savory turkey with salt rub
au gratin potatoes
green beans with lemon zest and French onion soup
cranberry sauce with orange and pineapple
cornbread stuffing
buttery sage biscuits
orange pumpkin pie
handmade orange whipped cream
mashed sweet potatoes
pumpkin brownies
sparkling mango cider
red wine

Its 10pm: how many times has your child thrown up tonight?

Last night Liam got a little sick around 6pm. By a little sick I mean by 10:30 we stopped counting how many times he'd thrown up after 13.  Emergency run to Fred Meyer for 7up still didn't help. He slept on the couch next to a bucket, and surprisingly woke up absolutely fine. I asked him why he had been so sick

"I don't know, but I'm sorry. Sorry I puked"
"you don't have to be sorry for puking"
"I think it was 100 pukes"
"I think you're right"

Cassia is sick and getting top teeth

She woke up Saturday at 4 am with a fever and all weekend I've gotten 3 hours of sleep being up with her. She's miserable as you can see.

just taking it easy

Which is nice, since I have another UTI and am having trouble functioning. Thank you, mildly sedate family.

Thank you, Elsbeth's mom

Jackie, my bff's mom, sent us a care package. She made Cassia a peace sign blanket and gave Liam the book "Are You My Mother?". As you can see, both were a big hit. Thank you, Jackie!

Liam stayed home sick from school

Baby is tired, Liam has a sick day

I went to bed at 8:30 last night, hoping to catch up on some sleep. About 9pm Liam projectile vomits all over the bathroom, and for about 40 minutes Jerad and I are in clean up mode (complete with shower for Liam). Needless to say, Liam is home from preschool today. He's watching Backyardigans and living on bananas and water. Cassia was awake all morning and is sleeping happily in the living room on the blanket Elsbeth's mom made her.

Glowworm is home

Cassia had jaundice and had to come home with a "bili blanket" which basically is a glowing blanket that plugs into the wall. She wore it all weekend, but her numbers have come down enough that we don't need it anymore. Good thing too, cause it looked pretty uncomfortable.

Sick Day

Liam is not feeling very well, so we're staying in today. I'm working on my online classes and he's watching Sesame Street and Dinosaur Train. I told him he could have whatever he wanted for breakfast, and he chose cereal with chocolate milk and whipped cream. And to drink, more chocolate milk. His temp is 100.5, so I'm not going to argue. And I foresee chocolate pudding for lunch (I actually found pudding with no corn syrup or corn starch, thank you whole foods movement!)

wanted a picture of his butterfly he got from St. Luke's

Wednesday sick day + a box

I brought a computer box home from the Target parking lot (I'm opportunistic like that) and it worked out great on sick day. We're both fighting the same cold and cough, but at least we had some cheap thrills.

our box has a window

there is only one way to watch Dr. Suess

sick day, but not from academia

My parents went home Friday morning, in time to miss Liam's cold. He stayed home from preschool Friday and is full of Benadryl, Motrin, 2 inhalers, and Vicks Vapo-rub today. He is feeling better though, in his pjs watching Bakugon and playing Bakugon on the Nintendo DS and also playing with actual Bakugon toys. Bakugon is the new Thomas.

sick day
He may have missed a day in school, but his mind is still there. I walked in the kitchen and he says "Look I spell ink!"
