Hiking
Cassia had been sick and crying for 3 days straight. I missed a day of school and volunteering at Liam's class and by day 3 we needed an outing. I figured she could cry outside just as much as she could inside.
She calmed down and had fun, she was a trooper and walked for almost an hour! She even will stay on the trails (mostly). Liam love the outdoors and lead us down all the trails. He did hit himself in the face with a stick and there was some blood, but we did OK.

Birthday Hike!
It was windy (my birthday does not really fall on hiking weather) but we ventured out anyway. We found a new path closer to our house and headed out. We'll definitely have to go back and go father when it's a little nice. Liam even made a map to follow with a winding river, giant spiders, and big volcanoes.

First hiking Trip of 2012
Back to our favorite hiking paths in Reserve Park. We only went for about an hour, but it was a much needed sanity saver for all of us. Liam lead the way and Cassia ate leaves. We drove past our old place and Liam said "we used to live here but then we got ants in my room that bite me and eat me". Good bye bed bugs, we do not miss you.

At the playground after party
Liam climbed. Cassia watched clouds.

spring's first hiking trip
We wrapped Cassia up and Liam and I took an hour and a half hike in the foothills. Much needed outdoor adventure. Half the trails are flooded, but we still had fun. Liam mostly enjoyed the mud.

Snow hike
Molly: Liam, do you want to go on the mountain this morning?
Liam: You want to go with me!?
Molly: Yes I want to go with you.
Liam: I need my coat!
And then you know you've got your kid in enough layers when he says "how many coats do I have? let's count them.".
We went in the Foothills, it was a little tough for Liam since the snow was couple inches and dry (hard to walk in) but we we were out for about an hour and he didn't complain once. We came in and he wanted cocoa and to watch Word World on PBS kids. I have to do homework (always, but only 2 more weeks this semester, counting finals week!) so he can take a cocoa and educational tv break.
